As the sun Rises, the wind comes, and we set sail.  This photograph was taken last weekend when I was sailing with Brian Fournier.   We were leaving our anchorage at third beach in Middletown, RI and This shot presented itself.

This shot s yet another proof of the fact that, no photograph just drops into your lap so to speak.  Every photograph that is well taken requires some planning, the willingness to get up early to get the shot, the willingness to spend time in post processing to fix initial issues with a photo.  But if you are willing to make the sacrifices, you can be blessed with a wonderful photograph that can go into your portfolio.

God Bless,

Standing Guard

EXIF data:
Shutter time:1/640
Aperture: f/5.6
ISO: 400
Focal length: 300mm
Camera: Canon 40D

This was a very interesting shot, I had been following this squirrel through my lens for a few minutes, and he happened to climb to the top of the bird house out side our living room door, so I naturally took a few photos of him while he was sitting there.

I took this photo into Adobe Camera Raw, corrected the white balance, and took it into Photoshop.  In Photoshop I added some contrast, changed color balance (to give it that vintage feel), and did some sharpening.

Welcome

Thursday, February 17, 2011

Hello one and all, I am going to be posting as many of the good photos from this year as I can.  I want to make this the place you will turn to for photography advice, inspiration, and a fresh take on life with photos from Maine.

I will try to make one post a week.

We must remember that we need to glorify God with our photography.  So in that case every photo we take must be in compliance with the principles laid out in the scripture.

I hope you enjoy this, and keep the comments and critiques coming.
